Palais Bulle Pierre Cardin

« L’art, c’est une passion, c’est un accompagnement de toute ma vie. Pour que la forme devienne réelle, les proportions et la ligne sont primordiales. J’aime dessiner dans l’absolu, sans les contraintes d’angles de couloirs, de pièces ou de murs. » –Pierre Cardin

(« Art is a passion that accompanied me during my whole life. For the shape to become real, the proportions and the line are primordial. I like to draw in the absolute, without the constraints of the angles of the hallways, the rooms or the walls. »)

Located close to Cannes (Théoules-Sur-Mer), the Palais Bulles Pierre Cardin is one of the architectural pearls on the French Riviera.

The Hungarian architect Antti Lovag (1920-2014) specialized in the bubble design and the organic architecture, worked in association with his friend the businessman Pierre Bernard from 1983 to 1991 in order to build this atypical villa on the seaside, basically named Villa de l’Esquillon. Antti Lovag developed a reflexion on human beings, their needs and space through what he called « habitology ». For him, functions, uses and daily moves determine the living spaces. The Palais Bulles Pierre Cardin is a return to the roots of the ancestral habitats (caves and troglodyte habitats) and a new vision of architecture inspired by the curves of the nature.
