Q: How is Luxoria different than other interior design firms?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I think we are different in many ways. We have an in-depth knowledge of a variety of things
including real estate, property investment, the logistics of working within France. In many cases, a Luxoria client gets free consultation in all of the above fields. It\u2019s not something we charge for, but it is an unforeseen service that comes up while doing projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Q: What is behind the name Luxoria?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I love the way the word sounds. It\u2019s an auditory design that provokes an image. Luxury, elegance, exclusivity. A Luxoria client is the type of person that only accepts the best quality material: the finest marbles, the most prestigious names in furniture. The company needs to reflect our clients and we believe the name does just that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Q: What has been your favorite project so far?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without doubt a villa in the most prestigious area of Cannes. It was a total transformation from rags
to riches so to say. We revolutionized this otherwise plain house and turned it into a sleek modern
luxurious dream property with all the mods and cons worthy of a property of that caliber. It\u2019s our job to see what can be, it\u2019s our clients job to walk into their dream home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Q: What is your dream project?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A dream project is always when you\u2019re given absolute freedom to do want you want and you\u2019re able
to apply your vision from start to finish. But a dream project in another sense would be undertaking
a hotel or a resort project. Luxoria has been in talks to do just such a project. A dream day for us would be inviting all our friends and fans to a champagne reception at a newly renovated Luxoria hotel project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Q: Do you have any advice for young interior designers\u2019?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just get on with it. It might not be easy to begin with and your first project might be for a friend or
relative but you may have to start small and work your way up. This is at least how I started. My
first projects were small studios and friends apartments, the big villas along with greater recognition
didn\u2019t come until much later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Q: What\u2019s one thing that you wish you would have known before starting Luxoria?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s all in the details! Of course I knew this starting out, but when someone sees a Luxoria project in a magazine or online, they are only getting a glimpse of the Iceberg. Behind that beautiful fa\u00e7ade is a whole slew of organization, permits, and scheduling (not to mention electricity and plumbing). We are all drawn to design because of the final product, but it\u2019s often a very challenging road to get to the final photo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Q: Who are some of your design inspirations?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Art is a big inspiration, I\u2019m also greatly inspired by my many travels but among my peers I\u2019d say that
the ones that stand out for me are Piet Boon, Tom Dixon & Kelly Wearstler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
