Country Estate Villa – Provence
“A house is much more than a mere shelter—it should lift us emotionally and spiritually.” – John Saldino
A home restoration project in the heart of Provence, this project saw us undertake a fullscale redevelopment of a provençal villa. It was important to be sympathetic to the history of
the home when the renovations began.
“There are two things that make a room timeless: a sense of history and a piece of the future.” – Charlotte Moss
This sumptuous country estate situated in a protected park in Provence underwent some structural changes during the remodelling stage. A new wing was added to the property which now houses the kitchen that opens up to the grounds.
During the work on the villa in Provence, careful attention was given to creating a dialogue between the exterior and the interior. Spaces connect them in a fluid way where outdoor and indoor living go hand in hand.
The landscaping reflects the traditional Southern atmosphere with a pétanque court, pergolas and private garden. These elements accentuate the beauty of the property. Plants such as lavender and Bougainvillea are among those that are representative of the region.
Material choices were based on traditional noble materials such as the “Pierre de Bourgogne” stone that sets the tone both to the exterior and interior surfaces. Bathrooms were decorated with different stone tones to give each one its colour identity.
A soft palette was used for the interiors, with carpentry in a patina effect to accentuate the style of the South of France.
Soft tone fabrics are used to decorate the rooms, creating a romantic, summery ambience. To see other villa projects we have worked on check HERE.
