At Luxoria Interiors, we are proud to celebrate a remarkable achievement within our own team.

Interior architect and designer Vasileios Michou, part of the Luxoria family, has been awarded 2nd Prize in the Professionals category at the Porada International Design Award 2025 for his sofa concept, Peak. It is a recognition that reflects not only his individual talent, but also the level of creativity and design thinking we value deeply within the studio.

A concept shaped by landscape and memory

Peak draws its inspiration from the Alpine landscape, not as a literal reference, but as a memory of how natural elements shape space and movement.

The design explores a quiet tension between two forces. The armrests rise with a sense of elevation, echoing the steep, upward pull of mountain ranges. In contrast, the seat and backrest introduce softness and continuity, reflecting the gentle, flowing movement of rivers at their base.

This balance between structure and fluidity gives the piece its identity. It feels architectural, yet calm. Defined, yet effortless.

A refined and sculptural approach

There is a clarity to Vasileios’ work that is immediately recognisable. In Peak, influences such as the minimalism of Isamu Noguchi and the elegance of Art Deco are present, not as direct references, but as shared sensibilities.

The result is a design that feels composed and intentional. Every line, curve and proportion has been carefully considered, creating a piece that sits naturally within a sophisticated interior without overpowering it.

Designed with craftsmanship in mind

Beyond its aesthetic, Peak demonstrates a strong understanding of construction and material. The armrests and back are conceived as a single, unified element, reinforcing both stability and visual coherence. The use of solid Noce Canaletto, combined with a hollow internal structure, reflects an intelligent approach to material efficiency while maintaining strength and integrity.

This attention to detail ensures that the concept aligns seamlessly with Porada’s design philosophy, where craftsmanship and material honesty are essential.

A flexible and contemporary vision

The project has also been developed with adaptability in mind. Peak can evolve into a sectional configuration, with an L-shaped extension functioning as a daybed and additional elements allowing for more expansive compositions.

It is a thoughtful response to modern living, where interiors are expected to adapt while maintaining a strong visual identity.
